The West Australian’s sarcastic Harry Potter front page of Mark McGowan and Peter Dutton goes viral
Dutton #Dutton
The West Australian’s sarcastic front page depicting Mark McGowan as Harry Potter and Peter Dutton as his nemesis Voldemort has gone viral across the nation.
The “Mark McGowan And The Not That Smart Absolutely Crazy Extremist” splash on Tuesday has the new Federal Opposition leader standing over the Premier with wand at the ready, seemingly about to strike.
But Mr McGowan, wearing the wizard’s iconic round specs, looks unperturbed.
The cover was inspired when Mr McGowan unloaded on Mr Dutton, branding him an “extremist” who isn’t “that smart”.
As part of the Premier’s huge spray, he also labelled the Liberal Party — at State and Federal level — a “fringe group”.
Hundreds of thousands of people have seen the front page, with some hilarious comments being made.
Reader Michael Ginever said on Facebook: “Dutton as Voldemort — not fair on Voldemort really.”

Rodney Slapp posted: “Now that’s funny, Dutton looks like Voldemort.”
A Twitter user going by the name Nixlaas said: “Gotta be the best front page I’ve seen in a long while.”
And another user wrote: “I haven’t seen a funnier front page since Prosh called it’s edition ‘The Wet Alsatian’.”
