The Traitors’ Wilf dealt crushing blow and lose jackpot as new evidence emerges

The Traitors: Wilfred Webster votes for Amanda to leave

The Traitors is the smash reality series fronted by Strictly Come Dancing host Claudia Winkleman, which has become a word-of-mouth success. After four weeks of tense episodes, the 12-part show will be reaching a climax as one person could be walking away with the huge cash prize. The final airs on BBC One this evening (December 22) at 9pm when all will be revealed.

According to new odds, senior fundraiser and Traitor Wilfred is going to be missing out on the money to a Faithful.

Instead, it’s going to be Faithful Aaron who will be the one to bag the money the contestants have been accumulating over the series.

Aaron has been given a 6/1 chance of winning the show from bookmakers Betway, which is a 14.3 percent chance of clinching victory.

Meanwhile, Wilf lags behind him with just 13/1 odds and 13.3 percent which means Aaron could have it in the bag.

Throughout the game, Wilf has been throwing his fellow Traitors under the bus as the competition heats up and he becomes more paranoid about getting hold of the cash.

The show started off with 22 contestants with many quickly getting whittled away through murders and banshiments.

Wilf, along with Alyssa and Amanda, were assigned the role of Traitors and managed to commit many murders before they were finally caught out.

During the Roundtable, Wilf voted to send Alyssa packing as he saw the tide turning against her.

This week, Wilf planted seeds as suspicion started to fall on Amanda before eventually voting her out with the others.

There are now just five contestants left in the competition: Wilf, Aaron, Kieran, Hannah and Meryl.

Newly anointed Traitor Kieran was enlisted at the last minute by Wilf and it looks like at least one Traitor could be bagging the cash at the end of the day.

Prior to her exit from the programme, Traitor Amanda was slated to win the competition with odds of 5/1 and a 16.7 percent chance of triumph.

Speaking about making it to the final, estate agent Aaron said: “I’m quite surprised because after episode three I didn’t think I was going to make it much longer.

“I also had another close call in episode seven so I’m surprised I’ve managed to make it this far.”

Reflecting on how he would spend the money if he won, Aaron said: “It would mean a lot to me, as well as my mum because I’ll be able to put a deposit down on a house for her.”

Meanwhile, Wilf said about getting this far in the competition: “I went in there with a gameplan that I executed quite well and it’s got me to the final, but at the same time there’s times where people are looking at you and pointing fingers at you, but I’ve come to terms with getting through that as a Traitor and then the eyes were off me.

He continued: “When I went through that and I managed to save myself, after that moment I knew I’d be in the finals.

“I knew it from that one moment during the Alyssa episode, where people hugged me after, and I hardly had a vote after that.

“I went from loads of votes all the time to hardly any and I knew it from the next day. I thought ‘I’ve got this now’.”

Wilf said he wanted the winning to create a safe space for young people as well as doing a psychology degree so he could offer counselling.

The Traitors final airs tonight on BBC One at 9pm
