The Traitors’ Ross makes cheeky nod to Diane

The Traitors star Ross Carson made a cheeky nod to his ‘late’ mother Diane in tonight’s (January 18) episode.
Diane exited the show in dramatic fashion during last night’s (January 17) episode after she drank from the poisoned chalice, with her departure being confirmed as she was laid to rest in a coffin.
In tonight’s (January 18) episode, the cast spoke about her exit from the series, with Ross still yet to reveal to his co-stars that she was his mother, a fact he played on during one exchange.

As the group returned from the challenge, Ross remarked “Diane would be looking down on us now and going ‘go get those Traitors guys. Go get them now,’” with Jasmine adding: “I love her – she was like my mum.”
Paul added that he felt Diane was his mum (as several of the other contestants had theorised in past episodes), before Ross said: “She was my mum first! Stop it”. As he said the line, he slyly winked to the camera as the others remained oblivious, but fans on social media were quick to spot the amusing nod.
“GIVE ROSS £120,000 NOW. RIGHT NOW!!! THE WINK!!! I SCREAMED #TheTraitors,” wrote one viewer on X/Twitter, with another adding: “Ross: ‘No Diane was my mum first!’ *winks* – I am howling. What a man #TheTraitors #TheTraitorsUK”

“Ross winking at the camera in the car after that Diane comment and somehow becoming the sexiest man on earth #TheTraitors” added another fan, whilst one remarked: “ROSS IS A CAMP ICON JUST LIKE HIS MUM #TheTraitors”
Tonight’s episode also saw two big decisions made, with Paul and Harry electing to recruit Andrew to the dark side to bolster their ranks. The happy trio didn’t last long, however, with Paul soon being banished after Harry planted doubts in his co-star’s minds.
