Doing homework isn’t a new concept for The Sims, but for the teen Sims you’ll be dealing with in The Sims 4 High School Years, it may be an unexpected requirement that you’ll need to know how to do.
Just like in the real world, doing homework is an important part of your Sim’s education. And while it’s entirely optional, if you want the best for your teen Sim, it’s something you should get in the habit of doing. Parties and hanging out can wait, after all…even if your Sim really wants to sneak out and meet up with their friends.

In The Sims 4 High School Years, your teen Sims will attend school on a daily basis. This is similar to the way your adult Sims will go to work each day. You can accompany them to school to help them make the right decisions while there, and keep them on track for academic success.
Every day, your Sim will have a daily task to “Do Homework,” which will be available at the end of each school day. You’ll see it in the career tab for each teen Sim you have in your brood. But how do you do homework in The Sims 4 High School Years? It isn’t immediately obvious.
To get your Sim to start doing homework, you need to check their personal inventory. Look for a blue book with some white text on it. That’s their school textbook. They may have similar books there as well. If you hover over the item and see “Do Homework,” you can get your Sim to complete their assignments for the day. They’ll even move to a table to dig in and do their best.
There aren’t any real consequences for not doing homework, unlike in the real world. But your Sim will get lower grades, and they won’t do the best they possibly can. They’ll still make progress in their career, but they’ll do it at a slower rate. If you want a Sim you can be proud of who gets straight As, however, you’re going to want to make sure they study and do their homework.
