Ambleside #Ambleside

AN award-winning chef has praised his team after their restaurant was included in a list of the top 100 restaurants in the UK.

Michelin Star restaurant The Old Stamp House, Ambleside, came in at number 79 in the 32nd edition of the Harden’s Guide.

Harden’s is the only UK restaurant guide sold in bookshops based on feedback from normal diners rather than a group of professional inspectors. A total of 30,000 reports are submitted from a survey of 3,000 diners.

Chef patron Ryan Blackburn said: “It’s always great to receive recognition for what you do day to day, especially when it’s diner-led like Harden’s is. That makes it even more meaningful and represents a true reflection of the experience we aim to deliver for each and every one of our guests.

“Without doubt, this recognition is a particular testament to the hard work of the entire team in ensuring every guest has the best possible experience when they dine with us.”

Restaurants at all price levels are listed: from street food vendors to the country’s most ambitious dining rooms, with 2,800 restaurants listed in total.

Other Lakes restaurants L’Enclume, on Cartmel’s Cavendish Street (number 8), The Forest Side, Keswick Road, Grasmere, (27) and Aulis at L’Enclume (45) were also listed in the guide.
