The old-aged criminals – Wicked pensioners arrested for murder, child abuse and drug dealing

Pensioners #Pensioners

Most people’s idea of elderly pensioners might be the gentle, cuddly nan or grandad sat quietly in a cardigan in front of their telly. But that image couldn’t be further from the truth in the case of these wicked old-aged killers, paedophiles and drug dealers.

Hundreds of pensioners aged over 70 were nicked by cops over the last three years as, despite their age, they were accused of committing some of the most serious and sickening crimes. Some 481 people aged 70 and over have been arrested by West Midlands Police since 2020 – with the oldest being two 91-year-olds.

Dozens in their 80s were also arrested. Some of these were accused of committing the worst crimes imaginable. Two were arrested for murder and another two for attempted murder.

There were 12 child rape arrests, 25 on suspicion of sexual activity or sexual assault on a child and two for sexual grooming. There were 14 arrests for making threats to kill.

OAPs were also involved in other nefarious activities like drug dealing and weapons, conjuring images of elderly gangsters seen in movies who haven’t been able to bring themselves to quit their life of crime. Three were nicked for possession of drugs with intent to supply and another for possession of class A.

There were two more arrests for supplying a controlled drug. Meanwhile, a number of pensioners were lifted for being tooled up.

Seven were done for possession of firearms, six more for possession of an offensive weapon and four for possession of a knife or bladed article. The most common reason for arrest was for assault – 67 for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and 52 for common assault. There were another 13 for grievous bodily harm.

Along with the two 91-year-olds, 36 pensioners in their 80s were arrested by West Midlands Police. Liaqat Ali, 70, was jailed in 2021 after threatening to shoot his neighbour with a BB gun, holding it to his chest while in a drunken rage.

Last August, an OAP was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill during a dramatic armed siege which saw cops descend on a Walsall street. A month earlier, a 71-year-old was among five men arrested following a mass brawl involving a machete in West Bromwich.
