Forza Motorsport Will Have Over 500 Cars at LaunchTurn 10

Forza game developers Turn 10 Studios announced Wednesday Forza Motorsport, the eighth game in the Forza Motorsport series for Xbox, will have over 500 cars for players to choose from when it launches later in 2023.

Developers for the game showcased the new and expanded features for Forza Motorsport during the Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct Showcase, where the console’s most anticipated games of the year are detailed for prospective players.

The game’s creators claim this is the “most technically advanced racing game ever made.” Things like advanced rendering tech and active ray tracing mean more detail on both the cars and the environments than ever before. In addition to the graphics, developers have strived to make the game play more realistically, with dynamic environments that include weather, track temperature, and even rubbering in corners. All of these variables, plus more, can change throughout a race, promising no two laps are ever the same.

Extra attention has also been given to the cars, which Turn 10 says drive more realistically than before. Drivers can now change things like fueling for even more customization. Engine noise has been addressed too, so if you modify your car with something like an exhaust or a supercharger, the tone of the exhaust will change. Of the 500-plus cars available at launch, more than 100 are pure racing cars.

There are more tracks than before, too. Forza Motorsport is adding five new circuits to its already healthy list of available courses. Turn 10 has only revealed the name of one, however: Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in South Africa. All the tracks will feature dynamic environments and have more details than in prior games.

Traditionally, Forza games have been released in the fall ahead of the holidays, though Turn 10 has suggested a springtime release for Forza Motorsport. Big-title AAA games have a habit of being delayed, though, so if nothing is released by summertime, expect a fall launch.
