The highly-anticipated second season of “The Mandalorian” is set to premiere on Oct. 30 and people cannot wait to see their favorite characters back on the screen. Since the announcement of the new season, the internet has been swirling with fan theories as to what could happen next on the show. One such fan theory that is doing rounds these days has completely blown everyone’s minds as it includes none other than Luke Skywalker.
The fan theory on Reddit claims that Baby Yoda is set to meet Skywalker in the upcoming season of the hit show, Esquire reported. As per the first season’s ending, the viewers were promised that Mando (played by Pedro Pascal) will take The Child to its people. However, a Redditor named TheMediocreCritic claims that Ahsoka Tano (reportedly played by WWE wrestler Sasha Banks) will be helping Mando and The Child on the journey.
Citing the Redditor’s claims, the media outlet reported that the trio will embark on a journey to Dagobah to find her old mentor and one of the most legendary “Star Wars” character Yoda. But there’s a twist. The user alleged that the trio will accidentally meet someone else while searching for Yoda.
“Upon arrival on Dagobah, they find Yoda’s hut has been vacant for some time, but she senses someone strong in the force. The force guides her to man by a fire outside of a cave. She senses a familiar force signature; similar but different,” the user wrote.
According to TheMediocreCritic, the man will be none other than Luke Skywalker. The theory also explains that Luke wants Ahsoka’s help in building a Jedi temple and wants to know more about his father Anakin. He could also tell Ahsoka that Yoda died years ago.
“The shadowy figure introduces himself as Luke Skywalker. Ahsoka explains that she was once his father’s apprentice and served with Obi-wan Kenobi. Luke asks about who his father was before he was Vader. Luke explains that Yoda passed away years before. Luke, emboldened by his victory at Endor, explains that he is a Jedi and wants to build a temple to train others and revive the Order. Luke asks Ahsoka to join him and help guide him in the ways of the Jedi. Ahsoka refuses,” the Redditor wrote.
Before leaving, Ahsoka would tell Luke to abandon the plans of making a temple because the path will only give him pain and suffering.
“Ahsoka places her hand over Luke’s; we see a vision of a burning temple; a lost son; an angry Luke brandishing his saber; the Emperor laughing. Ashoka pulls away, “abandon these plans,” she says, ”the path you are going down only leads to pain and suffering”, She says he has much of his father in him and must be careful of his feelings,” the Redditor claimed.
If the theory turns out to be true, it will be interesting to see which actor would play the role of Luke in the series. Mark Hamill made it an iconic character in the “Star Wars” franchise and is still regarded as one of the most well-written characters of all time.
“The Mandalorian” Season 2 will be streaming live on Disney+ on Oct. 30.
