The Lions are huge underdogs in Week 1 vs. Chiefs

It didn’t take long for news of the Detroit Lions heading to Kansas City in Week 1 to hit the sportsbooks. Opening in the home of the defending champions appears to be a daunting task for Detroit, based on the initial odds.
DraftKings quickly posted odds for the kickoff game, and the odds are stacked against Dan Campbell’s Lions. The opening line favors the Chiefs by seven points. The moneyline bet, which is just picking who wins without any point spread, opened with the Chiefs at -275 and the Lions sitting at +230.
Those are subject to change, of course. The Lions haven’t played in Kansas City since 2003, losing 45-17. Detroit’s last road game against the Chiefs was in 2015, but that game was played at Wembley Stadium in London. The Lions lost that game, 45-10.
