George Floyd #GeorgeFloyd
This is an opinion cartoon.
Derek Chauvin’s murder conviction is a win for America. We should all inhale this moment. Breathe again.
George Floyd: Nobody died when Colin Kaepernick took a knee
But it must not stop here. This moment, this George Floyd moment, is about accountability. George Floyd is the face of much needed police reform. This was not an anti-police trial. It was a pro-police trial. A pro-America trial. We all need to be held accountable.
The video was devastating. Good cops came forward in this trial to testify against one of their own. Huge. This trial was a win for good cops, which I believe to be the majority of all law enforcement.
Black Lives Matter. Until Black Lives Matter, All Lives DON’T Matter.
This day was a much needed breath of fresh air, a refreshing moment of clarity for everything America is supposed to stand for. We can breathe again.
This moment is a start. There’s much work to be done, going forward. But for the first time in a long time, it seems like we’re at least going forward.
