‘The Garfield Movie’ trailer
Chris Pratt (”The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” “Guardians of the Galaxy”) is bringing another famous character to the big screen in “The Garfield Movie.” The first trailer for the new animated film brings Jim Davis’ “Garfield” comic strip to life with Pratt as the voice of the titular lasagna-loving, Monday-hating cat. “I apologize in advance. The eating you’re about to see will not be pretty. And if you have young children, this would be a good time for them to leave the room,” Pratt’s Garfield jokes in the movie, which will a completely new story from the Bill Murray “Garfield” films in 2004 and 2006. “The Garfield Movie,” also featuring the voices of Samuel L. Jackson, Nicholas Hoult, Hannah Waddingham, Harvey Guillén, Bowen Yang and Ving Rhames, opens in theaters Feb. 16, 2024.
Charlie Sheen, Chuck Lorre doing new show
Charlie Sheen has reunited with “Two and a Half Men” creator Chuck Lorre on a new TV show, more than a decade after their very public falling out. Sheen will appear as himself on “Bookie,” a new Max series co-written by Lorre starring comedian Sebastian Maniscalco as a Los Angeles bookie struggling with the rise of online gambling. Sheen starred on “Two and a Half Men” for eight years before substance abuse problems led to a split with Lorre, who finished the series with Ashton Kutcher for four additional seasons while Sheen had his famous “tiger blood” meltdown and entered rehab. Lorre told ET that he reached out to Sheen, and they collaborated on what his character would do. “The first time I saw him [was] before the table read for the first episode, which is nerve-wracking to begin with,” the writer-producer said. “It was just the most natural thing in the world. The two of us hugged… It was closure. It was healing. And it was a big weight off my heart.” “Bookie” premieres Nov. 30 on Max (formerly HBO Max).
