The Athletic reports Michael Thomas could miss up to five games

Disaster hit the New Orleans Saints with news of Michael Thomas’ June surgery on his injured ankle, decapitating their depth chart and ringing in an ugly start to the post-Drew Brees era. But how long could Thomas be on the sidelines, exactly?

The Athletic reports that Thomas could miss up to the five games, which lines up with NFL Network’s reported four-month recovery timeline. New Orleans has been assigned a Week 6 bye this year, so it’s possible Thomas begins the year on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list rather than injured reserve, returning for Week 7’s Oct. 25 road game with the Seattle Seahawks on “Monday Night Football.”

Obviously we won’t know any specifics until the season approaches closer. But here are the five games Thomas could miss if these expectations hold true:
