Folks, we have a real humdinger of a fight going on in college football between Alabama coach Nick Saban and Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher and today it went to an fantastically personal level with Fisher going off on Saban during a very heated press conference.

This all started with Saban complaining about NILs and the new world of players being able to make money and whatnot. Poor Saban sounded very much like an old man yelling at the sky during an interview earlier this week.

Here’s what Saban had to say about Texas A&M:

“I mean, we were second in recruiting last year,” Saban told the audience. “A&M was first. A&M bought every player on their team — made a deal for name, image, likeness. We didn’t buy one player, all right? But I don’t know if we’re gonna be able to sustain that in the future because more and more people are doing it. It’s tough.”

Did Fisher, who once worked as an assistant under Saban at LSU, like those accusations? No, no he didn’t. Not one bit.

Texas A&M HC Jimbo Fisher just fired back at Nick Saban for saying they “bought” recruits.

Fisher calls Saban a “narcissist” and says he won’t take his call.

Here are some of his best quotes from Thursday.

Jimbo on Saban: “Some people think they’re God. Go dig into how God did his deal. You may find out about a guy, a lot of things you don’t want to know. You make him the czar of college football. Go dig into his past.”

Jimbo: I don’t cheat and I don’t lie. I learned that as a kid … old man would slap you upside the head. Maybe somebody should have slapped him.

Jimbo Fisher: You can work for people like Bobby Bowden and learn how to do things. You work with other people and see how not to do things. There’s a reason why I didn’t go back to work for him.

Jimbo Fisher: “We’ve never had parity, especially when some people never followed the rules to begin with.”

These quotes were so good

Jimbo: “I know how some of those guys recruit, too. Go dig into that. I know the history, I know the tradition and I know things. Trust me, you don’t want to go down that avenue”

Jimbo Fisher gets asked whether it’ll be awkward seeing Nick Saban at SEC media days: “Awkward about what? I don’t mind confrontation. I’ve dealt with it my whole life. I kinda like it.”

I might have to go to SEC media days on my own dime.

Would they let me in as a fan?
