Texas vs. UTSA score: Live updates, college football scores, NCAA top 25 highlights today

UTSA #UTSA

No. 21 Texas is struggling with a plucky UTSA squad, trailing 17-7 early in the second quarter at home on Saturday. The Roadrunners have posted 188 yards to Texas’ 97 in the first 20 minutes of game time. UTSA has clearly been the more physical and aggressive team so far — one week after the Longhorns took Alabama to the wire.

After scoring on their first two drives, Roadrunners coach Jeff Traylor called a gusty onside kick that caught Texas off guard and gave UTSA the ball in plus territory. Two plays later, UTSA dialed up a 35-yard double-pass from running back Brendan Brady to receiver Zakhari Franklin. UTSA has moved the ball at will against Texas, putting together scoring drives of 20 and 11 plays to keep the high-powered Texas offense off the field. Quarterback Frank Harris has 94 yards through the air and 25 yards on the ground in the second quarter.

Texas quarterback Hudson Card has 70 yards passing for the Longhorns, but the team has rushed for just 2.7 yards per carry. Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson have just 27 yards rushing combined against what’s shown to be a very physical UTSA defense.
