Xmas Eve #XmasEve
HOLLAND, MI — A 54-year-old man stabbed his 18-year-old relative over financial issues on Christmas Eve, deputies say.
The 18-year-old man, who was stabbed in the midsection, is expected to survive his injuries, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
Just before 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of Butternut Drive in Holland Township on reports of a stabbing.
There, deputies found the stabbed teen, a Holland resident. He was transported to an area hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.
Deputies arrested the 54-year-old man, also a Holland resident, and lodged him in the Ottawa County Jail.
Deputies said the two men are related but did not go further into detail. They say the argument that preceded the stabbing was about financial issues.
The stabbing remains under investigation.
