Her classic nude nails featured a bold update.
My interest in football is so minimal that when my Instagram feed started to fill up with pictures of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce packing on some post-game PDA this weekend, I wasn’t wondering (nor did I really care) why they were celebrating. Instead, I wanted to know more about her look: Her cashmere sweater was classic and on-trend while her red lip proved to be kiss proof. But as someone in need of nail inspiration, it was her glitzy neutral manicure that I couldn’t stop thinking about.
Since November, I’ve lived in a festive, cherry red polish that admittedly could use a break — as it turns out, you can overdo a classic. In the search for a less basic look, I’ve saved countless intricate manis on Instagram I’ll never be able to recreate. Which is why when I saw Swift’s elevated but still simple nails — a medium nude with a hint of rose that was finished with gold glitter — I immediately started looking for a dupe. And in that search found six lookalikes that start at $8.
ILNP Holographic Nail Polish: Sandbar
$13 at Amazon
ILNP’s holographic shade Sandbar is the perfect pinky nude. The lookalike polish features a dense glittery finish that can be manipulated with a magnet for that trendy, velvet-like effect and boasts more than 34,800 perfect ratings at Amazon. According to one shopper who owns two shades of the brand’s polish, “both [have] both lasted almost two weeks without reapplying,” while another person who called the polish “exceptional” said, “I’ve never been able to keep my nail polish in good shape for more than a couple days since i’m always working with my hands, but this stuff lasts.”
OPI Nail Lacquer: Metallic Composition
$12 at Amazon
OPI is a classic for a reason (smooth finish, long-lasting) and its shade Metallic Composition is the perfect mix of a basic nude and bold shimmer. This is a metallic polish that features small but dense glitter as opposed to large specks, giving it all-over shine. According to one person who called the shade “gorgeous,” Metallic Composition has “just the right amount of shimmer and shine.” “[It’s] a beautiful neutral shade…[that] lasts and goes with anything,” said someone else while another person reported that it’s a, “lovely color, dried quickly and lasted a long time.”
Burano Reflective Gel Polish: Nude SZN3
$8 at Amazon
Burano’s Nude SZN3, which you can grab for $8 at Amazon, is another great dupe. This shade features a burnt rose base that shimmers thanks to medium-sized specks of gold, brown, and pink glitter. One shopper wrote that the brand’s reflective polish “sparkles like a diamond” in sunlight while another raved about how well it holds up. “This nail polish lasts me the longest, which is a big deal because I’m super rough on my hands,” they gushed, adding, “I have tried lots of other brands but this by far is my favorite.” Keep in mind that this is a gel polish, so you’ll want to make sure to cure it with an LED light (this shopper-favorite is on sale for just $17).
Nude nails and mocha manis dominated 2023, and Swift’s glitzy take on the trend was the perfect update. Shop more glittery neutrals inspired by her game-day manicure, below.
