Tammy Abraham proves he’s the ultimate Jose Mourinho player with cheeky Roma bench wink

Mourinho #Mourinho

Tammy Abraham showed off what he’s learned from Jose Mourinho with a cheeky wink to the Roma bench as they secured victory in the Europa Conference League final.

Abraham has been on fire after linking up with the former Chelsea boss last summer, and their first season together in Italy was rounded off with a trophy on Wednesday (May 25) night. The Serie A side beat Feyenoord 1-0 to be crowned the first champions of the competition.

While Nicolo Zaniolo scored the winning goal, Abraham played his part in the win – including a hilarious moment which proved he’s the ultimate Mourinho player.

As every good striker should do, the 24-year-old held the ball up as the clock ticked down before winning a foul off a Feyenoord defender. He then wasted even more time as he held his ‘injured’ left leg.

It was at that point that Abraham produced an expertly-timed wink which would have had the Special One beaming with pride. The moment was spotted by fans with one tweeting: “The Tammy wink. Jose taught him well.”

Another commented: “That Abraham wink. Mourinho has taken his soul.” A third wrote: “That little wink from Abraham, been learning the football dark arts from Jose!”

Abraham scored nine goals in Europe this season and was elated to have helped Roma to glory. He told BT Sport: “One thing I said when I came here was I was going to help the team get to the final and one day I want to win a trophy. In my first season I have achieved that.

“Credit to my team-mates, excellent performances. We deserve it. We have worked hard all year. I love them (the fans). From day one I came here it has been the best. We are champions, I am happy to be a part of the team, now it is time to celebrate and enjoy.

“Even when I first came to the club it had been a long time since they won a trophy, you can hear the fans. We knew how much it was going to mean, you can see we’ve got some of the best fans.”
