Sydney restrictions: what you can and can’t do

Victoria banned people from those LGAs, declaring them red zones under its travel permit system. The Wollongong council area has been declared an orange zone, meaning people arriving in Victoria from there will need to get tested after crossing the border and isolate until they get a result.

South Australia has banned anyone from the Waverley LGA or who attended an exposure site. People from Randwick City, Bayside, City of Canada Bay Inner West, City of Sydney and Woollahra must get tested upon arrival, then get tests five days and 13 days after that.

Western Australia, Tasmania, the ACT and the Northern Territory have banned anyone from a confirmed exposure site in NSW.

In NSW, anyone from the seven LGAs is banned from leaving metropolitan Sydney except for a reason deemed essential.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says she wants to avoid locking down Sydney, but has not ruled out tougher measures than the ones she announced on Monday.
