Swerve Strickland Missed AEW Dynamite Due To Food Poisoning, Is Not Injured (Exclusive)

Swerve #Swerve

Swerve Strickland will not be making an advertised appearance this weekend.

Starrcast announced Swerve Strickland has been pulled from this weekend’s convention due to injury. The announcement did not specify what the injury was, but noted that it happened during his Coffin Match at All In. Swerve Strickland teamed with Christian Cage against Sting and Darby Allin at the pay-per-view event in London.

Swerve Strickland also missed AEW Dynamite this week, but Tony Khan said his absence was “due to illness.” During his All Out media call on Thursday, Khan mentioned Swerve as one of several names they had plans for but missed this week’s show.

“A lot of the top stars were unavailable either due to illness to even more so due to the hurricane. We had top stars like Saraya and Swerve, who we had good ideas for. They were unavailable due to illness,” Tony Khan said. “So many people coming out of Florida due to the hurricane including Kenny Omega, and I really would’ve liked to have Kenny Omega there.”

WrestleZone has learned that Strickland missed Dynamite due to getting food poisoning.

In relation to the Starrcast appearance, we were told that another unrelated issue prevented the live podcast from moving forward as planned. Because of this, the decision was made to cancel the stage show. Swerve was not figured into plans for the All Out pay-per-view itself, but he is not currently injured.

Starrcast takes place in Chicago (Schaumburg) from September 1-3. The event will also stream exclusively on Premier Streaming Network.
