Suspect identified in Canton Hall of Fame Village shooting that left 1 in serious condition

US Marshals are asking for the public’s help in locating 35-year-old Darryl Harmon of Antioch, Tennessee. Harmon is wanted for felonious assault.

CANTON, Ohio — Canton police say a victim is in serious condition after being shot in or near the Hall of Fame Village on Sunday.

The shooting happened in the 2100 block of Hall of Fame Way at approximately 4 p.m. Police say they found 40-year-old Diamond Strickland of Akron with two gunshot wounds to his lower extremities. Strickland was taken by paramedics to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. 

The suspect has been identified as 35-year-old Darryl Harmon of Antioch, Tennessee. Police say Harmon fled the scene in a red Ford Ranger truck with the Tennessee license plate 082BBMV. He is wanted for felonious assault. 

According to the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, Harmon allegedly shot the victim following an argument. Canton police believe the shooting was “an isolated incident which resulted from a personal domestic-related conflict.”

Harmon stands 5’4″ tall and weighs 122 pounds. He is known to frequent both the Canton and Cleveland area.
