“Surplus to requirements” Chalobah could take 6 month loan if he is “frozen out” at Chelsea | OneFootball

Nizaar Kinsella’s latest piece on Trevoh Chalobah’s status at Chelsea feels like a direct threat from those in charge to the player – or perhaps a complaint from the player about his current treatment.
The opening line claims that the defender is “considered surplus to requirements” and that he “could be frozen out.”
It points out that the arrival of Axel Disasi, rather unexpectedly, from Monaco this summer has hoovered up the minutes expected to be Chalobah’s, who is struggling to get on the pitch at all even with Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana out and with Levi Colwill playing at left back.
It’s not a great sign for the defender, and it’s clear that the club’s intention was to sell him in the summer, although they priced themselves out with a £50m asking price.
The injuries probably killed off any chance of a loan, but if Badiashile is back and fit by January and Fofana making progress, it seems likely Chalobah takes a temporary move if a permanent one doesn’t materialise. Kinsella’s piece mentions Bayern, but there are likely to be others involved if that situation is on the table.
