It was a opening half to remember for veteran guard Chris Paul in Dallas on Monday night.

Paul continued the type of red-hot shooting on Monday night that saw him score 29 points against the same Mavericks team on Saturday.

The veteran paced the Suns offense in Monday’s first half, connecting on 8-of-10 field goal attempts to score 18 of the Suns’ 47 points in the opening 24 minutes of play in the Lone Star State.

Paul’s first half performance on Monday saw him score more points in two quarters than he did in 27 minutes of action in the Suns’ 114-93 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Thursday.

Social media was abuzz with videos of Paul nailing his patented midrange jumper, showing the 35-year-old carving up the Mavericks defense to get open looks from the floor.

In all, Paul connected on 2-of-3 attempts from behind the arc in the first half to go with hitting 6-of-7 from inside of it.

Paul is averaging 15.6 points per game this season and 17.5 PPG over his last 10 appearances.

He also added five rebounds and three assists, ranking second on the team (behind center Deandre Ayton) in the former and tops in the latter category.

Paul picked up where he left off in the second half of Monday’s contest, connecting on 6-of-9 field goals in the final two quarters of play to finish the night with 34 points for the Suns.

The Suns would go on to beat to the Mavericks, 109-108, to improve to 11-8 this season.
