Suni Lee took gold and a world champion title at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics women’s all-around competition Thursday following Simone Biles’ high-profile leave from the U.S. gymnastics team finals just two days before.
Lee outperformed Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade’s 57.298 with a score of 57.433 – less than two-tenths of a point. She also beat out the Russian Olympic Committee team, which secured a gold earlier in the week when Biles stepped away from the Olympic team final to focus on her health.
