New research shows having a Christmas tree in your bedroom could help you.

But not with the first thing that probably comes to mind.

Researchers at Hayes Garden World found that sprucing up your bedroom — literally — could help with your sleep. The U.K. company found that the tree alone can have an impact.

First of all, the green color reminds of nature and is considered soothing. Bright colors from the lights can also trigger happy hormones and the sight of the tree can also serve as a religious reminder.

But most of all the Christmas tree brings a feeling of nostalgia and would allow people to break away from the responsibilities and stress of adulthood by feeling like a kid at Christmas again.
