Stranger Things Season 5 Production Has Begun, Here’s The First Photo

Byers #Byers

It’s not every day you get to see Eleven, Vecna, Hopper, and the Byers brothers hanging out in the same room. But thanks to Season 5 of Netflix’s Stranger Things officially entering production, a new photo shows the cast and crew reconvening in preparation for a return to Hawkins, Indiana.

Netflix posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) the first image of Stranger Things 5, adding “this is a code red.” The show’s creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, are there, along with Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna, Henry Keel), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), and Noah Schnapp (Will Byers). Other members of the main cast are pictured as well, such as Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers) and Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler).

Previously, the writers behind Stranger Things have described Season 5 in quite the weird way. They posted on X last year that it will be “like if Season 1 and 4 had a baby. And then that baby was injected with steroids.” Originally, Stranger Things 5 was supposed to start production last year, but the Hollywood writers’ strike delayed filming until now.

This will be the last and final season for Stranger Things. Not too much is known at this point, though the Duffer brothers have confirmed what’s happened so far wasn’t “all a dream.” Apparently there is a fan theory predicting that the story is all made up from a Dungeons & Dragons campaign played out by the boys from the show. But that’s incorrect, according to the creators.

Currently, there is a Stranger Things prequel play called The First Shadow that’s now on stage in London. It’s set in 1959 and focuses on a young Henry Keel.
