Newcastle United are trying to bring in a THIRD assistant manager to help under-fire boss Steve Bruce.
Sportsmail understands Bournemouth’s Graeme Jones is in talks over joining the backroom team.
Bruce already has Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence as joint No.2s, with Steve Harper and Ben Dawson also part of the coaching staff.

The Magpies have suffered a serious slump in form with pressure mounting on the manager
But the Magpies are hoping that a deal can be agreed with Bournemouth to add Jones to the set-up as they bid to reverse a run of nine matches without a win.
The 50-year-old, who was born in Gateshead, has previously worked as Roberto Martinez’s assistant, most recently with the Belgium national side.
He was appointed Luton manager in 2019 but left the club last April with the team second from bottom in the Championship.
Jones then took up a coaching role at Bournemouth under Jason Tindall last summer but now looks set to return to his native North-East, should a deal be reached with the Championship club.
Newcastle are desperate to halt their slide towards the bottom three and believe Jones can help on the training ground and in preparation for matches.
