Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors went to Boston Sunday looking for a signature win over the East’s top-seeded Celtics. They got the opposite of that.

The game was over before the halftime buzzer sounded as the Celtics led by an insurmountable 44 points. With the game out of hand, head coach Steve Kerr decided to throw in the towel and pull his starters in the third quarter.

Curry had a disappointing performance with just four points on a lackluster 2-for-13 shooting and 0-for-9 from deep.

The Celtics star duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown torched Golden State, scoring 27 and 29 respectively through three quarters when head coach Joe Mazzulla pulled his starters.

With the lopsided score, NBA fans ripped the Warriors for their pitiful performance.

The Warriors came into the game hot, winning 13 of their last 16 games, but the blowout against the Celtics might have slowed their momentum as they look to make a playoff push. With the loss, Golden State will drop to 32-28 on the season and will look to get back on track with another tough game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday.

Meanwhile for the Celtics, the win will give them their 11th straight and they hold a monster lead in the Eastern Conference, eight games ahead of the second-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers.
