Stephen A. Smith is an eccentric character whose personality can lead to vocal outbursts on television, but it’s rare to see him talk extremely negatively about someone, particularly a colleague in sports media.
But on Wednesday, Smith let a certain situation get the best of him and he couldn’t contain his anger while addressing it. Less than a week ago, Jason Whitlock delivered a scathing monologue on Smith and even alleged that Smith didn’t write his own book.
Stephen A. Smith lashes out at Jason Whitlock: ‘I’ve had enough of that fat b*stard’Twitter
Smith took a little while to let those comments simmer and then unleashed hell on Wednesday during The Stephen A. Smith Show.
He prefaced the rant by saying “I even took the liberty of calling my pastor to apologize in advance for what I’m going to say about that no-good bastard.” He called Whitlock “less than a damn cockroach” and then unloaded.
“I’ve had enough of that fat bastard. That piece of s**t.” Smith brought up how Whitlock ran The Undefeated (now Andscape) “into the ground”.
“While you were on Blaze TV spewing that bulls**t to people… did you tell them how you stood outside of First Take begging me to talk to you… begging me to forgive you? Why it took you nearly two years to get an article out, what a disgrace you were to John Skipper?”
“What he does is he puts himself in front of white folks, the white folks dare we say may have a problem with black folks. He says ‘I’m your man’. I cannot imagine as a black man, anything worse than a white supremacist. That is until Jason Whitlock came along. He’s worse than them. He is the worst, most despicable, lying, no-good, fat-ass human being I have ever known.”
Whitlock has long been a controversial figure in sports media. He frequently delivers outlandish takes for the sake of being divisive. Smith sees through it and decided to let him and everyone know it.
