Steph Curry captures Trayce Thompson’s double

For more than a decade now, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have been tied together.

Thompson revealed to NBA on ESPN in June that their close bond didn’t really start to form until their third year in the league when they took a trip with USA Basketball to Spain, where the two bonded over golf and sangria. Their friendship and on- and off-the-court chemistry has played a part in their four NBA titles.

But the brotherly love the two have for one another to succeed clearly extends to family, too, with a prime example of that coming from the Dodgers’ 10-3 win over the Twins Tuesday night.

Dodgers outfielder Trayce Thompson, Klay’s younger brother, didn’t start, but he entered the game in the eighth inning to pinch hit. Curry did what any good friend would do and grabbed his phone to film the younger Thompson, who drilled a one-out double into the left field.

Curry celebrated the hit by pointing to Thompson at second base. He also pumped his right fist in the air.

It was a moment that Curry almost reportedly missed.

The Warriors superstar appeared to be leaving the game early — perhaps to avoid Los Angeles’ suffocating traffic — but stayed after Dodgers manager Dave Roberts sent someone to inform Curry that Thompson would be pinch-hitting, according to SportsNet LA reporter and host Kirsten Watson.

When Thompson stepped up to the plate, Curry pulled out his phone to capture the moment.

Thompson scored minutes later after Trae Turner smacked a line drive to left field to make it 9-3.

There was no sign of Klay at the game, but the other half of the Splash Bros has been spotted numerous times at Dodgers Stadium this summer supporting his younger brother. Last month, Trayce hit an RBI double in a game against the Giants that sent the four-time NBA champion into a frenzy.

Now, will Trayce return the favor during the upcoming NBA season? We expect that to be the case.
