On Wednesday night, Patrick Beverley and the Los Angeles Clippers limited Steph Curry to a season-low 13 points on 5-of-17 shooting from the field. During the second game of the Golden State Warriors’ two-game set, the Clippers failed to contain the two-time Most Valuable Player.

Curry notched a game-high 38 points on 13-of-24 shooting from the field with three steals in 36 minutes. The six-time All-Star’s performance against the Clippers was good for his second double-double of the season.

The sharpshooter especially caught fire from long-distance, drilling a season-high nine triples on 14 attempts from beyond the arc. Curry is finding his rhythm from 3-point range during his previous four games, hitting 23 total 3-pointers in that span.

Curry was the centerpiece of Golden State’s 22 point comeback against the Clippers. The guard dropped 19 points in the third quarter. Curry hit a trio of triples in the third quarter’s final minutes to move Golden State within six points before the start of the final quarter.

When he wasn’t letting it fly from deep, Curry recorded a season-high 11 assists as a passer. With a double-team looming, Curry whipped a cross-court pass to Damion Lee for an open jumper. Lee knocked down the empty corner 3-pointer to trim the Clippers’ lead by one point.

With 1:08 remaining in the fourth, Curry drilled a step-back dagger 3-pointer over Paul Geoge to ice the game in Golden State’s favor.

Curry has now scored 30 or more points in five of his last seven contests for Golden State. Through nine games to start the season, the 32-year-old guard is averaging 30.4 points on 45.8% shooting from the field with 6.8 assists and 4.8 rebounds. From long-distance, Curry is shooting 39.4% in the early stages of the 2020-21 campaign.

Next up, Curry will have a meeting with the Toronto Raptors on Sunday for a rematch of the 2019 NBA Finals.
