Southampton next manager odds: Nathan Jones ODDS-ON as permanent replacement with Sean Dyche in the mix

Nathan Jones #NathanJones

Southampton announced that the club and Ralph Hasenhuttl have parted ways and as a result the search for a replacement is already well underway.

Whoever takes over has a huge job on their hands with the Saints in the midst of a relegation battle and it’s Nathan Jones according to Betfair that looks set to inherit this task.

Jones is the manager for Luton Town who he took to sixth place last season.

They currently sit eighth in the Championship with seven wins, eight draws and four losses – a prominent record considering Luton are ranked 20th in market value in the division.

The 49-year-old former left-back has also managed Brighton, briefly as a caretaker manager in 2014, Luton previously and Stoke before returning to Kenilworth Road for a second stint.

But Southampton may have to pay big considering just 10 months ago Jones signed a contract until 2027.

Next Permanent Southampton Manager

  • Nathan Jones 7/20
  • Sean Dyche 7/1
  • Kjetil Knutsen 11/1
  • Marcelo Gallardo 14/1
  • Mauricio Pochettino 16/1
  • Domenico Tedesco: 22/1
  • Vincent Kompany, Nuno Espirito Santo, Paulo Fonseca, Steven Gerrard: 25/1
  • Rafa Benitez, Pedro Martins: 33/1
  • Dyche is also in the running although still a markedly outsider given Jones’s favouritism.

The 51-year-old managed Burnley for a decade before being let go after facing relegation from the Premier League.

But since then, he’s been linked with many jobs in the top-flight given the job he did with the Clarets throughout his tenure was no mean feat.
