Arsenal are prepared to sell Jakub Kiwior in January to make space for a new centre-back signing, sources have told Football Insider.

The 23-year-old defender has been deemed surplus to requirements at The Emirates and the Gunners are now open to offers.

It is understood that Serie A giants Roma and AC Milan have both shown interest in signing Kiwior in January.

Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen his defensive department ahead of the second half of the season but has been told that sales need to be made to make space in his squad.

As revealed by Football Insider, Arsenal want to add a new centre-back, central midfielder and striker to their squad throughout the January transfer window.

Kiwior joined the North London side in January 2023 following a £20million deal with Italian side Spezia.

He signed a four-and-a-half-year deal at The Emirates, keeping him at Arsenal until 2027.

However, Kiwior has struggled to nail down a starting spot in Arteta’s side during his first 12 months at the club and now looks set to head for the exit.

The Poland international has made 21 appearances for the Gunners across all competitions, including 13 in 2023/24.

He has played just 246 minutes in the Premier League this season, with Gabriel and William Saliba preferred as Arteta’s centre-back duo.

Kiwior has also occasionally been played at left-back in Oleksandr Zinchenko’s absence, but has failed to cement the position as his own.
