Some sunshine, breezy and cool 40s Wednesday

Good Wednesday #GoodWednesday

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Good Wednesday morning. We have several portions of Northeast Alabama that have some slick roadways this morning, please travel with caution.

The cloud cover has lingered overnight and has kept temperatures just above freezing starting the day, dress warm heading out the door. The breezy winds overnight have also aided in the drying of area roads, but some leftover wet spots or even patchy slick spots can be possible for your morning drive to work and school. Today will bring a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the middle 40s, the breezy west winds will make it feel much cooler though.

Skies stay clear overnight with lows falling into the lower 30s by daybreak Thursday. Thursday will be the best day we see for the foreseeable future with sunshine and mild high temperatures in the middle to upper 50s, take advantage of the day!

We have the First Alert out for Friday with another strong storm system forecast to sweep across the Tennessee Valley. This system will bring widespread heavy rainfall, gusty gradient wind gusts and potentially a few stronger thunderstorms… check back for the latest on Friday’s forecast. The weekend should stay rain-free but cold with highs in the low to middle 40s for Saturday and Sunday.

We are watching yet another system arriving Sunday night into Monday. Rain and snow showers can develop Sunday night and stick around through Monday afternoon, forecast details and impacts remain uncertain at this time. Along with the possibility of winter precipitation, we have higher confidence in the cold air coming in behind the storm system that can drop out Tuesday morning lows into the single digits and teens!
