‘Rachel’s extraordinary vocal abilities are just the beginning of her gifts,’ said Webb.
‘Her strength, intelligence and optimism will become an integral part of rediscovering the joy in this classic Disney fairytale.’
Producers searched for months to find the perfect Snow White, and they reportedly noticed New Jersey native Zegler when an early clip from West Side Story was shared.

Plot: The Grimm fairy tale centers on a wicked queen who orders the murder of her beautiful stepdaughter Snow White, but later discovers that she is still alive and hiding in a cottage with seven miners; a still from the 1937 classic
Who will play the prince? The queen then dresses up as an old lady to offer Snow White a poisoned apple. After taking a bite, Snow White falls into a death-like sleep that can be broken only by a kiss from the prince
She also had to beat out 30,000 actresses to land her role as Maria opposite Ansel Elgort’s Tony in West Side Story, which comes out in December.
She will also be seen with Zachary Levi in D.C.’s Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

This new version of Snow White will ‘expand upon the story and music from the original,’ the site claimed.
Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are writing new songs for the movie.
The classic was famed for fabled tunes like Heigh-ho and Whistle While You Work.
The original animated film first hit theaters 69 years ago, in 1937, and was a huge hit with fans and critics, who awarded Walt Disney an an honorary Oscar at the 11th Academy Awards on February 23, 1939.
Another version: Kristen Stewart as Snow White in Snow White And The Huntsman for a 2012 film with Chris Hemsworth
Oscars organizers hailed Disney for the ‘significant screen innovation, which has charmed millions and pioneered a great new entertainment field for the motion picture cartoon,’ giving the creator a statuette that included the regular figure flanked by seven smaller figurines, to represent each of the dwarfs.
The previous year, it had been nominated for best score, but lost out to the score for the musical One Hundred Men and a Girl.
Other adaptations of the classic story included Mirror Mirror, the 2012 film that featured Julia Roberts, Lily Collins and Nathan Lane; and Snow White and the Huntsman, another 2012 film that led to a poison apple of Hollywood scandal when it was revealed Kristen Stewart carried on a romance with (then-married) director Rupert Sanders.
