Williamson County and Rutherford County schools have cancelled classes for Monday — both in-person and online lessons — because of lingering snow on secondary roads.

Both districts announced Sunday afternoon that Monday would be a snow day.

In a Facebook post explaining the decision, Williamson schools said that while road conditions significantly improved on main roads, the district remains concerned about buses safely reaching students where they live.

“Our spotters are reporting that subdivision streets and roads that have not been plowed or treated have not improved as much and remain hazardous for bus transportation,” the Facebook post stated.

Rutherford schools cited similar reasons in an email to parents.
