Snoop Dogg, host of TBS’s new version of ‘The Joker’s Wild,’ tells USA TODAY’s Bill Keveney about getting advice from other game show hosts and lists his favorites, past and present.

Snoop Dogg and DMX are going head-to-head in a music battle.

The rappers, 48 and 49, respectively, are facing off in an episode of Verzuz’s series, this competition dubbed “the battle of the dogs.”

The battle will take place on July 22 and can be watched on Verzuz’s Instagram page or Apple Music.

Snoop shared a series of posts about the battle on his Instagram late Tuesday.

In the first post, he shared a photo of him and DMX together, writing in the caption: “Doggs4life.”

Ludacris, who previously battled Nelly in a Verzuz episode, weighed in on the upcoming battle with a comment, writing, “This gon be EPIC.”

In the following post, Snoop shared the announcement poster, which depicts the “battle of the dogs” theme with a red-eyed pit bull under DMX’s name and a blue-eyed Dobermann under Snoop’s name.

“I ain’t got no dogg in this fight ! Yes u do who u got ???” he wrote with a flame and other emojis.

Rapper Kyle weighed in on Snoop’s post, writing, “Big Snoop dogg all day”

DMX shared the same poster on his Instagram, where Snoop took to the comment section to write, “Doggs4life” with dynamite and “100” emojis.

In his last post, Snoop shared a magazine cover with no caption. The 1998 October Vibe cover issue shows a stern-looking Snoop Dogg alongside text that reads “Snoop” and “DMX” above and below the phrase “Big Doggs!”

Snoop Dogg is best known for hits including “Gin and Juice” (1993), “Drop It Like It’s Hot” (2004) and “Young, Wild & Free” (2011).

DMX is known for hits including “X Gon’ Give It to Ya” (2003), “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” (1997) and “Party Up (Up in Here)” (1999).

Other recent Verzuz duels include Alicia Keys and John Legend, who went head-to-head on Juneteenth this year. In May, it was Erykah Badu vs Jill Scott.

Snoop has recently made non-music related headlines for his statements about voting.

In an interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Real 92.3 that aired June 4, the rapper said he’s never voted before, but will be doing so in the 2020 election, saying he didn’t want President Donald Trump in office any longer.

“I ain’t never voted a day in my life, but this year I think I’m going to get out and vote because I can’t stand to see this punk in office one more year,” he said.
