Slavia Prague goalkeeper Ondrej Kolar suffered sickening cuts both above and below his left eye after a shocking ‘kung-fu-tackle’ to the head by Rangers forward Kemar Roofe.
Roofe was sent-off in the 61st minute during the Gers’ 2-0 defeat by Slavia Prague on Thursday night – 3-1 on aggregate – as the Czech side progressed to the Europa League quarter-finals.
The Rangers forward overextended his leg while chasing the ball, nicking a touch on it but then planting his studded boot into the face of the helpless Slavia keeper, who was taken off on a stretcher and images circulating afterwards showed the extent of the damage.

Kolar left the pitch on a stretcher and watched on from the touchline in the closing stages
Kolar, 26, was left with a big gash above his left eye, the top of his forehead, as well as a cut below the eye, and was replaced by sub keeper Matyas Vagner.
Since the incident, reports have emerged that Roofe has been subject to racial abuse on Instagram.
The comments, in the form of emojis, were made on a recent post of Roofe’s, following his red card at Ibrox on Thursday night.
In addition to Roofe’s red card, Leon Balogun was also sent off in the 73rd minute as the tie ran away from Steven Gerrard’s team in the second-half.
In a separate incident, Slavia player Ondrej Kudela was ‘attacked with fists in the tunnel’ after being accused of racial abuse by Rangers’ Glen Kamara.
Gerrard urged UEFA – who have launched an investigation – to take swift and decisive against the Slavia player after the Finnish international was left devastated by the incident, while Slavia have said that police were called in following angry scenes in the tunnel afterwards.

After drawing the away leg 1-1 in Prague last week, Rangers would have fancied their chances of progressing to the quarter-finals.
But Peter Olayinka cancelled out Rangers’ away goal in the 14th minute, before the two red cards and Nicolae Stanciu’s goal crushed Gers’ hopes of a deep European run.
They will now switch their focus to domestic matters, as they face Celtic in the Old Firm Derby on Sunday having already secured the Scottish Premiership.
