Sky News sports presenter Jacquie Beltrao has apologised to viewers after some Australians crashed her live broadcast and dished out some colourful language following the country’s World Cup loss to England.

In a nail-biting semi-final, the Lionesses faced a challenge at Sydney’s Stadium Australia when taking on the Matildas but managed to secure a spot in Sunday’s final against Spain with a 3-1 victory.

It was a heartbreaking loss for the Australians who packed the stadium, however there were also plenty of England fans who were more than happy to chat to camera crews as they exited the ground.

That included two friends from Brighton who had flown to the other side of the world to watch the tournament.

Chatting to Jacquie, one shared that she’d actually missed some memorable moments from the match as she was in the loo.

But soon after, as the pair were talking about the significance of the Lioness’ win, some Australians jumped in.

Running into the frame, a man seemed like he briefly forgot his loyalties and threw his support behind the victors.

‘Wooo, f***ing oath England,’ he declared before running away.

Almost immediately after another man, presumably his mate, also ran up to the camera and started cheering for the visiting side.

Laughing it off, the girls finished chatting before Jacquie then had to address what had just happened.

Quickly turning back to the camera after bidding farewell to the two fans, she swung around and without missing a beat said: ‘Apologies there for any language in the background.’

‘I think fan spirits are running quite high at the moment.’

After the game, many famous faces also threw their support behind the Lionesses ahead of their first ever World Cup final.

Shortly after the final whistle was blown, Holly Willoughby wrote on Instagram: ‘Utterly incredible… wow wee! Congratulations @lionesses.’

Meanwhile, Carol Vorderman tweeted: ‘Sweet Caroline. A great day for women Congratulations Lionesses. And Congratulations to the Matildas. All of you, how you enjoy yourselves how you give an inspiration to all young girls. When I was your age we couldn’t ever have dreamed of these times. It’s wonderful.’

Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall also shared her excitement, reposting a clip of the Lionesses’ win alongside a bunch of celebratory flowers.
