Sixers star Joel Embiid officially returns for Game 3 vs. Heat at home

With the Philadelphia 76ers in a dire situation at home with the Miami Heat, they needed their superstar big man to return now more than ever. No team has ever rallied to win a playoff series after trailing 0-3 and that is what Philadelphia faces on Friday night at home.

The Sixers are set to return home and they will get Joel Embiid back in the lineup, officially. He cleared the concussion protocol on Friday morning and after a quick ramp-up, the team has given him the clearance, and Embiid will return and play in Game 3.

Now, Embiid will be battling a lot. He will be returning from a concussion and playing with a mask because of the orbital fracture. Combine that with the fact that he still has a torn ligament in his right thumb and that means he will be way less than 100% in this matchup.

Tip-off from the Wells Fargo Center is set for 7 p.m. EDT with the Sixers fighting for their playoff lives.
