The Philadelphia 76ers are in the process of going through free agency and looking to add pieces to a roster that is ready to contend in the Eastern Conference. While they do that, one of their young studs is playing well over in Tokyo.
Matisse Thybulle has performed well on the floor in the 2020 Olympics and he had another big game to help the Boomers advance to the semifinals as they beat Argentina easily 97-59.
Thybulle had 12 points, five rebounds, and, of course, he had three steals to help Australia in this one. The biggest stat that will stand out to everybody is the fact that he knocked down three triples on five attempts. That is always the biggest aspect to look at with the young man out of Washington.
Thybulle and the Australians now have a big matchup with Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, and Team USA in the semifinals. Australia did defeat the Americans in an exhibition game before things officially began out in Tokyo, but Team USA has been in a groove lately. It will be a tough matchup for everybody involved as Thybulle looks to continue his path for a gold medal.
