The Philadelphia 76ers were not able to get the job done at home as they fell to the Atlanta Hawks in Game 7 on Sunday 103-96. They committed 17 turnovers and they had a tough time with Kevin Huerter and Trae Young of the Hawks.

Joel Embiid had 31 points and 11 rebounds, but it obviously was not enough for the Sixers to be able to keep up with the Hawks in this one. He did commit eight turnovers on the night as it seemed that Philadelphia had a tough time with Atlanta’s pressure and everything they brought to the table.

Embiid shot 7-for-10 from the free-throw line, but it felt like the big fella should have shot many more free throws. There was a lot that the Hawks got away with when it comes to being physical with the big fella.

“There’s a lot of stuff that went wrong,” Embiid said afterward. “Whether it’s they can foul me all they want, whether it is the officiating. You got guys fouling, putting the hands up, me going for a dunk, and they don’t call anything. The last three games, it’s been the same way over and over.”

Embiid was also fined $35,000 for his little scuffle with Hawks big man John Collins and that also bothered the big fella.

“Then, last game, I get fined for having my arms out while I’m getting pushed in the freaking back,” he continued. “I got fined just because, I guess, I don’t know why. There’s a lot of stuff that went wrong.”

Embiid did voice his displeasure with the officials after their Game 6 win on Friday, but clearly, it fell on deaf ears. There were plenty of fouls the Hawks got away with in this one, but on the flip side of that, a player has to be able to battle through all of that and get the job done.

“As a team, we still have to be better,” Embiid finished. “We still had a good chance to win. We just made a lot of mistakes. I gave everything I had.”

The Sixers will now head into an offseason with questions to answer after a very disappointing finish to the season for them.
