Simon Jordan has labelled controversial internet personality Andrew Tate as a “smart kid” amid speculation he is set to fight Jake Paul in an exhibition contest. The two influencers recently squared off ringside when watching Floyd Mayweather’s one-sided victory over Deji Olatunji at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai – sparking interest in a potential fantasy matchup in the ring.

Jordan sees no problem with the duo making some money by climbing inside the ropes – although he made it clear the fight will only appeal to a specific target audience to the annoyance of true boxing fans.

When weighing in on the contest, Jordan told talkSPORT on Tate, who is banned from almost every social media platform: “Smart kid. Not as smart as he thinks he is but smart.

“He’s a very big influencer and says some really silly things but he’s got an enormous following.

“He thinks he’s the ‘most famous person’ in the world, I think he’s bumped his head out on the way somewhere.

“There is now an indication that he is going to fight Jake Paul, this is a money fight. It’s two influencers that have got huge followings.”

He continued on the fight itself: “Andrew Tate is a bright kid, I saw him interview on Piers Morgan’s show. That’s a challenge in itself to try and get in a word with Piers – king of the narcissists.

“But the bottom line in Andrew Tate versus Jake Paul is just a sideshow. If you want to watch that, fine.”

Paul’s brother Logan is sceptical about whether the fight will take place as he urged the 35-year-old to step up to the plate after being sent “multiple offers.”

“Andrew Tate will not fight Jake, Andrew Tate will not fight myself. It would be so silly. If he does, it would be a money play. He’s going to get his a** kicked and the ‘Top G’ facade will finally be revealed as bull****. It is the fight that everyone wants to see, I’m curious to see if he is going to step up,” Logan Paul told the Impaulsive podcast.

“Let’s not forget, the man is oldish, what like 36 or 37? You’re old as f*** bro. Let’s heat up, let’s make something happen. I’ve laid out multiple offers for this dude, Jake has met with this guy. Let’s see action.

“One of us talks a f****ng lot the other actually does some s***. I want to see some action, pen to paper, sign the contract and fight. No more bull****.”

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul is now 6-0 in the professional ranks having recently secured a points victory over MMA legend Anderson Silva.

Meanwhile, Tate is a form professional kick-boxer and won 76 of his 85 bouts during his time competing in the sport’s cruiserweight and super cruiserweight divisions.

Back in August, Tate and his brother Tristan held a meeting with Paul’s manager but the trio did not disclose the details following their discussion.

Tate has battled eye injuries throughout his kickboxing career and it remains to be seen whether he is totally committed to a comeback fight of any nature.

“It’s a matter of making sure the deal gets done correctly,” Tate previously said on the prospect of returning to the ring.

“I’m not going to allow any of these social media clowns to pretend that they’re the a-side of negotiations when I’m the most famous man on the planet. They do not deserve more money than me, in fact it’s the opposite. If they don’t fight me, they fight bums.”
