Namibia’s Christine Mboma collected a silver medal in the women’s 200-metre final at the Tokyo Games on Tuesday.

Mboma had been prevented from competing in the 400m due to naturally occurring raised testosterone levels.

She produced an astonishing final 30 metres to make up four places and finished in a time of 21.81 seconds in the 200m.

Elaine Thompson-Herah (21.53) won gold and Gabrielle Thomas (21.87) of the U.S. silver.

Ivory Coast’s Marie-Josee Lou and Namibia’s Beatrice Masilinga ended further down the field in fifth and sixth position, respectively.

Masilinga had also been barred from the 400m for the same reason as Mboma.
