Chronology:
(1938-01-25) Born in Ishinomori (石森), Miyagi Prefecture ***NOTE:the Kanji “石森” is generally read with “Ishimori”.
(1954-12) Debuted with “Nikyu Tenshi”. His pen name in Kanji was “石森 章太郎”. He wanted to be called “Ishinomori” which was the same name as his hometown. However, people called him “Shotaro Ishimori”.
(1956-03) Graduated from his high school and moved to Tokyo.
(1956-05) Moved to legendary apartment building “Tokiwaso”, and had lived together with various prominent manga artists.
(1963-05) Founded the anime production company “Studio Zero” with Shin’ichi Suzuki and others.
(1971-04-03) Live-action adaptation of his best-selling manga Kamen Rider premiered on Japanese television.
(1972-07-08) Live-action adaptation of his best-selling manga Jinzou Ningen Kikaida premiered on Japanese television.
(1975-04-05) Co-created Himitsu Sentai Go-Ranger, marking the beginning of the sentai genre in the Japanese TV and film industry.
(1985) Changed his name into “Shotaro Ishinomori” (石ノ森 章太郎)
(1998-01-28) Died from heart failure.
