Adelaide Strikers chased down Sydney Thunder’s total of 200 at the Adelaide Oval, in a high-scoring last-over thriller. The win came on the back of a stellar opening stand between Matthew Short and D’Arcy Short while chasing, and a decisive cameo from Adam Hose to finish it off.

Sydney Thunder won the toss and opted to bat first on a road of a pitch at the Adelaide Oval. To start off, Alex Hales played a stunning cameo before he was dismissed, only to be followed by Matthew Gilkes two balls later. Bancroft stitched half-century stands with Oliver Davies and Alex Ross to lift the Thunder to a competitive total before, before a cameo from Nathan McAndrew got the Thunder to a potentially winning total.

However, the opening stand between the two Shorts got the equation down to 72 to win in 42 balls, a job that was still a tall order if not for a ravaging Adam Hose, who came good at the death, and struck Zaman Khan for the winning six to send the local crowd into raptures.

Brief Scores: Sydney Thunder 200-7in 20 overs (Cameron Bancroft 74, Jamie Overton 2-29)lost to Adelaide Strikers 205-4in 19.4 overs (Matthew Short 82, Tanveer Sangha 1-33)by 6 wickets
