Wes Foderingham 7: Had little to do, a spectator for much of the second half but showed his ability to stay in a game by making a good reaction stop two minutes from time.

Anel Ahmedhodzic 8: A goal and an assist for the Bosnian. His header was turned home by McBurnie for the second, he then powered another bullet against the crossbar that led to a bit of ping pong for Robinson’s goal, before sweeping home the fourth to put United in control.

John Egan 7: Sold at the back and his header was turned home by Robinson. Another good display.

Jack Robinson 6: Had a nightmare for the second goal, caught in possession just outside his own area and Benson ran on to slot home. This coming after heading Benson’s curling effort into his own net for the first. Night and day performance with second half, crossing for Ahmedhodzic in the second goal before giving United the lead from close range with the third, making amends for his earlier mistake.

George Baldock 7: Solid, did little wrong. Got into some great attacking positions and put in his usual shift up and down the right flank. A goal would have capped off a good display and he was unlucky when clean through for the fifth but the keeper saved, only for McBurnie to score.

Oliver Norwood 8: Some lovely passing today, switch balls, round the corner, long diagonals in behind the full-back. Never stopped moving, making himself available and another good display.

John Fleck 7: Much improved. Great tackle in the heart of midfield to win possession and set United on the counter for the attack that forced the corner in the build-up to Robinson’s third.

Ben Osborn 7: Superb tackle to deny Josh Cullen, who would have fancied his chances of giving his side the lead following a pull back inside the area but Osborn got in a brilliant block to keep him out. It was his shot that was blocked for Ahmedhodzic to pounce. Moved out to left wing-back when Stevens was subbed.

Enda Stevens 5: Struggled up against the pace and trickery of Benson. Left-footed winger playing on the right and allowed to cut in on to his left on far too many occasions. Booked midway through first half for deliberate foul, which summed up his troubles against him. Much better after the break.

Iliman Ndiaye 8: Outstanding again. Got United back into the game from close range, pouncing from McBurnie’s knock-down on a corner. Work rate was superb, two moments stand out. One in the first half when he pressed the defender into a quick pass which McBurnie then profited from and again in the second half when he chased his man into the corner and blocked his clearance, earning a standing ovation. Never stopped running.

Oli McBurnie 9: Two goals and an assist for the striker, who continues his good form. It was his header back inside for Ndiaye to equalise and he then showed great reactions to diving head home Ahmedhodzic’s header from a corner. Got up in support of Baldock and was rewarded by slotting home the fifth. Another impressive shift from the striker.
