Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson East and her husband, former NFL player Andrew East, offered insight into their marriage with a recent Vogue interview.

The couple revealed that their biggest piece of advice for handling conflict in their marriage is to, “just communicate often,” Johnson said.

“Remember that two people might have two completely different perspectives on a reality,” East chimed in.

The couple also shared that the thing they love most about each other is how they interact with their three children, Drew, Jet, and Bear.

“They’re all sweet,” East said of his favorite baby age, with Johnson voicing that age 2 is her favorite.

When asked how she wants to grow as a parent, Johnson said: “How do all these parents make sourdough? How do they have time? That’s how I want to grow, I want to make sourdough.”

East said he wants to read more to his children.

“We do every day, but I want more,” he said.

While both spouses gained fame for their athletic prowess, they now host a podcast, create viral videos, and offer generally entertaining parenting and relationship tidbits.
