Seven Ways to Celebrate an Unconventional St. Patrick’s Day
St Patrick #StPatrick
St. Patrick’s day is going to look a little different this year. While we were hoping to be able to celebrate at parades and at local restaurants, F*ck It Won’t Cut It knows it’s important to spread the St. Paddy’s cheer in a way that keeps the entire Boston community safe. Here are some of our favorite ways to celebrate– and you might even score a pot of gold!
1. Celebrate virtually with your Zoom crew
Did someone say shamrock shake happy hour? Right now, going out isn’t the best choice. But you can still have fun virtually– grab your favorite St. Patrick’s Day snacks and catch up with your friends!
2. Order takeout from your favorite local restaurant or pub
Stay in, shop local, and support your favorite restaurants that you can’t wait to get back to when it’s safe. While we’re also sick of doing the dishes every night, you’ll at least get to enjoy some of Boston’s best while you’re at it!
Psst… On the hunt for a new restaurant? Here are a few great places to start!
3. Find your own four leaf clover
Take a walk down Boston’s Irish Heritage Trail and enjoy the beautiful spring weather! After such a long winter inside, take advantage of the fresh air and Boston’s beautiful scenery. Don’t forget to grab a festive face-mask.
4. Cheer on the Celtics from home
Get your green on and watch the Celtic’s take on the Atlanta Hawks! There’s no better way to celebrate the holiday than with our city’s own Irish-inspired team.
5. Learn how to make some of your favorite St. Paddy’s treats at home
We know quarantine has inspired the inner-chef in each of us to come out. Ever wondered how to make Irish classics like soda bread or corned beef and cabbage? Now’s your time to shine! Or, take a more unconventional route with favorites like green smoothie bowls or grasshopper bars.
6. Spread some cheer and decorate your dorm room
Along with decorating your room, you can also have a door decorating contest on your floor or hallway! Don’t feel green with envy when you could enjoy your neighbors’ colorful creations.
7. Do an Irish jig
There’s never been a better time than quarantine to try something new. Grab a roommate or hop on a Zoom call with your friends and get dancing!
Be-leaf us– we can’t wait until it’s safe to celebrate in-person with close friends. But, it’s important to make choices that protect yourself and your community. So while this year may not be the St. Patrick’s Day we’d usually expect, we’re feeling lucky, Terriers!
