Seth Rogen loves making movies and also loves making pottery, but almost more than anything, he loves cannabis.
“Hi, I’m Seth Rogen. And if you know anything about me at all is that I really love weed,” he said to begin a social media post this morning.
The notoriously candid weed evangelist behind classic stoner comedies like “Pineapple Express” has apparently been hard at work on a secret project for a decade now. The actor revealed in the video that Houseplant, his cannabis company and lifestyle brand, will be available in California as of next week. He called it his life’s work.
The philosophy behind the brand is basically supplying Rogen-approved strains of cannabis, alongside home goods created with marijuana smokers in mind. Houseplant’s flower, an industry term for conventional smokeable cannabis, will be sold in colored tins which look like pots that tiny succulents might be stored in.
Not many details exist on the home goods side of the operation (and their website is down at time of publication), but in the video Rogen shows off a clever wooden box which looks like a paperweight, but holds a lighter and ashtray. There’s a vinyl box set with specific songs for each cannabis strain, which will each be named after weather systems, similar to in the film “Pineapple Express.” So far the first strain he revealed is a sativa called Pancake Ice, which contains 33% THC and Rogen claims to smoke all day long.
