73′ Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

Haller comes on to a huge roar from the crowd, replacing Krasso, while Kessie replaces Sangare who had been looking a little bit leggy.

Ivory Coast have put their big hitters on, can they find an equaliser?

Camara booked

72′ Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

Camara cleats Pepe on his Achilles, earning himself a yellow card.

That’s his second of the tournament, but thankfully for his sake bookings were wiped clean after the group stage.

Camara tries his luck

70′ Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

Camara tries his luck from range, lashing a powerful, low shot from beyond the box that misses wide.

A second Senegal goal at this stage of the match would be disastrous for Ivory Coast.

Jackson joins the fray

67′ Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

Senegal respond with their first change of the match, bringing on Nicolas Jackson in place of goalscorer Habib Diallo.

No formation change for Ivory Coast

66′ Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

Despite the double substitution, Ivory Coast look like they are playing the same system for now.

Pepe, Adingra on for Ivory Coast

Reinforcements coming for Ivory Coast

61′ Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastien Haller has just started warming up and the home supporters cheer. Ivory Coast have been better in the second half but they are still lacking quality in the final third. Surely it won’t be long until we see Haller and Adingra brought on.

Diallo booked

60′ Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

Senegal’s goalscorer Diallo is shown a yellow card for catching Ndicka in the face with a flailing arm as both players jumped for the ball.

He joins Mane as the two players in the book thus far.

VAR decides not to intervene and Senegal will not have a penalty.

On their bench, manager Aliou Cisse is not impressed.

Senegal appeal for penalty

55′ Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast could be in real trouble here, Ismaila Sarr breezed down the line into the box and touched the ball ahead of Odilon Kossounou, before going to ground under contact.

I would not be surprised if the referee is asked to take another look at this.

Diakite looks for Krasso

54′ Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

Diakite makes a great run into the Senegal box, avoiding defenders and getting to the byline. He whips a cross in looking for Krasso at the near post but Mendy gets in the way and catches the cross.

A minute later, the play repeats as Diakite crosses for Krasso, but he’s not able to throw his body at the ball enough to make contact.

Fofana denies Diallo

47′ Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

Koulibaly releases Diallo down the right wing, who bursts into the box and looks to shoot across the face of goal. Fofana gets his fingertips to the ball to push it wide, keeping Ivory Coast in the match for now.

Second half is underway!

46′ Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

We’re back underway! Ivory Coast have 45 minutes to find an equaliser, otherwise the tournament hosts will be done.

Mane fortunate to avoid red for Sangare foul

HT: Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

Having eventually seen a replay of Sadio Mane’s foul on Sangare in the ninth minute here in the stadium, surely he shouldn’t be on the pitch?

His avoiding a sending off could be a defining moment in this game.

Diallo’s early strike makes history

HT: Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

Habib Diallo’s goal came just three minutes and 15 seconds into this match, making it the earliest Senegal has ever scored in an Africa Cup of Nations knockout match.

Tempers rising

HT: Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

There is an argument breaking out in front of me between a Senegalese and Ivorian journalist. We are only at half-time and tensions are very high!

Heavyweight clash

HT: Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

It is such a shame this is a round of 16 tie. There is quality in both sides and the atmosphere is electric, which only makes you wonder how special it would have been in the later stages at a bigger venue.

Ivory Coast are controlling the ball without posing much of a threat but Seko Fofana looks like he is in the mood to produce something magical.

HT: Senegal 1-0 Ivory Coast

That’s half-time!

Senegal took the lead through a fantastic goal in the fourth minute, but it’s been all Ivory Coast ever since.

Will Ivory Coast find an equaliser, or will Senegal put this game away on the counter-attack?

Stay with us for the second half to find out!
